My Story

I’m Sahan Hewagama — a Creative Strategist, Senior Art Director, and multidisciplinary designer with over a decade of experience shaping ideas into meaningful visual and brand experiences. My journey began humbly as a Trainee Creative Designer and has evolved through hands-on learning, leadership, and an obsession with storytelling that goes beyond aesthetics.

After graduating from the University of Moratuwa in 2016 with a Bachelor of Design (Honours) in Media and Communication Design, I stepped straight into the fast-paced world of creative communication. What followed was 10+ years of continuous growth — sharpening my ability to think strategically, design purposefully, and communicate ideas that connect with real people.

Across roles at the President’s Media Division, Abans Group (ABSGDH International Pvt. Ltd.), Epitom Digital, and other leading organizations, I’ve had the opportunity to work across diverse industries and platforms. From branding and press advertising to digital campaigns, packaging, animation, videography, and large-scale visual systems, I’ve led projects from concept to execution, mentored young creatives, and built brands that perform as well as they look.

 

In 2025, I was honored to receive a Special Award at the PAD Awards in the Brands for Life category — a milestone that reflects my belief in long-term brand thinking, consistency, and emotional connection over short-term visuals.

 

Currently, I work as a Senior Art Director at NGage Strategic Alliance (2025–Present), where I collaborate closely with strategists, marketers, and creatives to develop integrated campaigns that align creativity with business goals. Here, my role goes beyond design — I contribute to creative direction, brand strategy, and high-level visual decision-making across multiple touchpoints.

Alongside this, I lead my own creative identity, 360 by Saan — a space where design, strategy, and storytelling come full circle. I don’t just create logos or visuals; I build cohesive brand narratives that live consistently across digital, print, and real-world experiences. Whether it’s a billboard on the street or a social media campaign on a screen, my approach remains the same: keep it simple, but make it significant.

Special Award at the

PAD Awards 2025

This project was recognized with a Special Award at the PAD Awards 2025 under the Brands for Life category for creating a deeply meaningful brand identity for HugsHeaven, a children’s orphanage. The work goes beyond visual aesthetics, using thoughtful symbolism, emotional storytelling, and golden-ratio–driven design to communicate healing, protection, and unconditional love. The identity reflects how branding can create lasting social impact by restoring trust, dignity, and belonging—one hug at a time.
